About
ASD Photography
I started taking photographs back in the mid 1960's starting out with Kodak Instamatics and when I could finally afford my first 35mm camera in 1973, it was an Olympus OM1. Learning the art of taking photographs vs pictures developed into a love of the art and the technology. In and out of the darkroom with the smells of the chemistry and being totally awestruck by watching images magically appear on clear sheets of photographic paper. This never stopped amazing me. From an OM1 to a OM2 to many lens, and to a medium format 6 x 6 Yashicamat 124, the love never stopped. With the advent of the modern PC and the appearance of the first digital cameras the handwriting was on the wall, as soon as I could afford a DSLR I was again hooked into the endless possibilities that this new technology was making available. Many of our friends and critics have suggested that we share our many photographic impressions with the public. This is our start.
About Our Craft
Our first DSLR was a Canon 10D, followed by a Canon 20D, Canon 40D and the latest canon 5D MkII, with several point and shoots. The lens family has grown significantly. We use the best lens that Canon makes, the prestigious "L" series. Using the best glass, the best papers and great techniques we strive for digital perfection. We use the best Epson Professional printers and Ultrachrome inks in a totally color managed workflow. Everything from taking the shot to producing the final fine art print is done in-house. Nothing leaves our immediate control process until your fine print is on its way to you for your enjoyment.
